THE PHILOSOPHY
Rooted in the art of knowing oneself

Imata is more than a fashion house-- it is an invitation. Drawn from the Igbo expression imata onwe ya, our name is a declaration: to know oneself is the most radical act of beauty.

We create for those ho refuse to the contained. Each collection is a landscape of possibility -- a deliberate depature from convention, an embrace of texture, color, and form as instrument of personal truth.

Here, dressing is not decoration. It is discovery

IGBO "TO KNOW YOURSELF"

Designs that transcend personal style boundaries -- truly limitless in form and expression.

Sustainablity is a creative principle: upcycles materials and local artisan collaboration woven into every piece.

Silhouettes engineered to honor every body, in fabrics that move with the wearer's life

PRINCESS ADAOBI LADIPO

THE CREATIVE DIRECTOR

A vision born from Lagos, carried everywhere

Princess Adaobi Ladipo is a Nigerian designer whose work is an uncompromising mediation on identity, heritage and the freedom that comes from truly knowing who you are.

As the Creative director of Imata Studios, she channels Lagos electric energy into collections that pulse with vivid color, and a devotion to women who wear them. Her design language is at once visceral and considered-- bold where it needs to be, tender where it must.

Sustainability is not a trend in Adaobi's studio, itis a conviction. She works in close partnership with local artisans, elevating traditional craft into contempoary silhouettes, and treats upcycling as an art form rather than an afterthought.

Her collections do not simply flatter -- they liberate. Designed with stretchy luminous fabrics that embrace all bodies, each piece is a quiet promise: you belong here exactly as you are.
